MIJN PASSIE VOOR DANS

In juli 2024 plaatste ik op 1 van mijn 4 Facebook sites, de volgende tekst op facebook:
(Waar ik alles plaats op social media weet ik niet.
Ik heb teveel verschillende kanalen waar ik vanuit werk.)
Ik lees het dus maar even voor, vanaf een andere telefoon:

Het is misschien voor velen een beetje apart dat ik zo van Joegoslavische muziek houd.
Maar toen ik ooit als kleine peuter op camping Arnhem verbleef tijdens de zogeheten "grote vakanties" was er heel veel volksdansen.
En dan danste ik als peuter heel erg graag op Joegoslavische dansmuziek.
Dit werd mijn werkelijke reden waarom ik op mijn 18e levensjaar met een grote gitaar koffer en rugzak, naar Joegoslavië wilde gaan. Gewoon om de mensen daar te kunnen horen zingen en te zien bewegen en voor ze gitaar te gaan spelen. En geloof me maar, het was echt een onvergetelijke vakantie!
Een vakantie waarin ik wanneer echt heel veel heb meegemaakt.

Er kwam toen dus nog een reactie van mijn vriendin uit die tijd, een vriendin waar ik nog steeds mee in contact sta en met wie ik dus verkering had op mijn 16 jarige levensjaar.
Zij heet Wietske Boersma, is ongeveer net zo oud als ik zelf ben ( nu ook 66 jaar) en reageert met de woorden:

"Ja, dat weet ik nog! Je stuurde me toen een ansichtkaart uit Zagreb. En die kaart heb ik nog, nu bijna een halve eeuw geleden."

Ik druk nu net in dat ik die opmerking leuk vind. Het dus leuk vond om die reactie van haar te vernemen.

MY PASSION FOR DANCE

In July 2024, I posted the following text on 1 of my 4 Facebook sites:

So I'll just read it out loud, from another phone:

It may be a bit unusual for many that I love Yugoslavian music so much.
But when I was once at the Arnhem campsite as a small toddler during the difficult "big holidays" there was a lot of folk dancing.
And then as a toddler I loved to dance to Yugoslavian dance music.
This actually became my reason why I wanted to go to Yugoslavia when I was 18 with a large guitar case and backpack. Just to be able to hear the people there sing and see them move and play the guitar for them. And believe me, it really was a long holiday!
A holiday in which I really experienced a lot.

So there was a response from my girlfriend from that time, a friend with whom I am still in contact and with whom I had a relationship when I was 16 years old.
Her name is Wietske Boersma, she is about the same age as I am (now also 66 years old) and responds with the words:

"Yes, I remember that! You gave me a postcard from Zagreb. And I still have that card, almost half a century ago now."

I just now press that I like the comment. It was nice to hear her reaction.

En nu dus bijna een halve eeuw later vind ik nog steeds een registratie vanuit de hoofdstad Belgrado, waar ik uiteraard ook was geweest. Het is fijn om jonge mensen vanuit hun hart te zien genieten op hun eigen dansmuziek. Muziek die anders is dan in mijn eigen land Nederland. Vooral wordt ik geraakt door direct gespeelde muziek op straat waarbij zelfs regelmatig gezongen wordt met woorden die eveneens vanuit hun hart naar buiten kunnen komen. Eigenlijk komt hier natuurlijk ook het basisconcept van de stichting Bando uit voort. De Stichting die ik oprichtte na mijn zeer indrukwekkende reis naar de Filippijnen in het jaar 2006

And now, almost half a century later, I still find a registration from the capital Belgrade, where I had clearly been. It's nice to see young people enjoying their own dance music from the heart. Music that is different from my own country, the Netherlands. I am mainly sung by music played directly on the street, while they are even regularly sung with words that can come out in parallel from their hearts. In fact, the basic concept of the Bando foundation also stems from this. The Foundation that I founded after my very impressive trip to the Philippines in 2006
